Super Awesome Boston Fun-ness?

So, once upon a time I bought Beanpot tickets this past Saturday...

Oh wait, Jenny already told you this story (see below). For the record, I had blueberry pancakes at the diner and Val: I figured out that the purple bar on guitar hero means you press NO buttons. Go figure. Anyway, Beanpot is in like... a week, and there WILL be face paint involved. Yes, for Jenny too. It's going to be epic. Our team is still ranked 2nd in the nation... and they rock. And umm, I ran into two of the more attractive players in the past week (one literally...oops!). Bonus points? I think so.

You should probably know that I think our luck in finding the super awesome apartment was due to the fact that the first person I saw that morning was a man in a pink button down and a purple bowtie. Yeah. Future husband.

Okay, no, serious ultimate future husband alert! Someone NEEDS to marry my research professor's son. He goes to NYU and is super smart and is in a band and... umm, he and his roommate built a ball pit like at McDonald's in their room. But here's the kicker: you also can't get into their room unless they LET DOWN THE DRAWBRIDGE. Yeah. The drawbridge that they built for the dorm. Why aren't men this amazing at BU? Seriously?

And umm, my research professor? Apparently he was a traveling musician in grad school. And not in places like Boston and NYC. In London and Paris and European cities. And he once had two men dissolve into a fist fight (all the while emphasizing their points by throwing more money in his instrument case) over whether or not he would play "Camptown Races." Hilarious.

Exciting news in the life of Groupie 205: I just handed in my first set of paperwork/essays for my medical school applications to the premed office...eek! I'm really doing this! And in other news, I am officially going to Hotlanta for President's Day weekend. Which happens to be Valentine's Day weekend (I know. Let's get it all out together: 1, 2, 3...aww!) So hooray for that. It'll be really nice to catch up with the boy.

8-10 inches of snow predicted tomorrow. CRAZINESS. Dear BU, Snow day please? kthxbai.

Much love,
Groupie 205

Adventure Number 1

So, Katelyn and I started our Saturday morning quite early last weekend. She waited in line for Beanpot tickets for the both of us (YAY first Beanpot for Jenny) and I went to the gym with a couple of friends and absolutely killed the muscles in my butt and my thighs (boo for being sore for a week after). We fortunately got done at about the same time and of course I was starving and completely in the mood for breakfast... but alas the dining hall yet again screwed with my life and was no longer serving breakfast because it was 11:00 on a Saturday (aparently no longer breakfast time). Naturally we went off in search of breakfast food. We first hit up Sunset Cantina but after I tried (unsuccessfully) to open the door we discovered it was still closed and not serving breakfast. We then remembered hearing about a diner on Beacon St. and thus the adventure began. We made our way to The Busy Bee diner where we discovered they only take cash, so we hit up the ATM a couple stores down and went back... yeah we looked like dorks but it's okay. We sat at the counter and it brought be back to the days of Grease. It was pretty sweet. I finally got my breakfast and it was a delicious omlet with bacon and cheese and yummy potatoes and toast with lots of butter. Katelyn then needed a lab notebook so we head on to Staples after paying our bill. There was this awesome notebook we found that was pretty on the front so Katelyn got it and I picked up some notebook paper and then we continued to peruse the aisles browsing for office supplies. Then an idea struck Katelyn "if we leave now we can go to Best Buy".

Of course after that idea we immediately skeedaddled to the checkout line made our purchases and booked it over to Best Buy. We then continued to play a set of 6 songs on Guitar Hero World Tour (of course the Rock Band was frozen). It was GREAT and we had this dad and his kid watching us for a while and then another kid almost ran me over. But we played and we played like we hadn't played all semester... oh wait we hadn't but separation makes the hard grow fonder. And that my friends is the first Adventure that we back in Boston lived and breathed through. Look for more exciting adventures to come!
